Job description

A World-Changing Company

Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.

The Role

Palantir is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join our Compliance function within the Legal Team. Our team’s mission is to proactively provide compliance advice to the business, in an effort to support Palantir’s responsible business growth.
In this role, you’ll support teams across the global business as they navigate various regulatory and contractural requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws across various jurisdictions and to support Palantir’s strategic business objectives. Our ideal candidate can identify novel issues within an indeterminate landscape, navigate complex issues independently, and enjoys being innovative when solving problems. In this role, you’ll draw on legal expertise, strong analytical reasoning and practical judgement to recommend appropriate solutions and work collaboratively with various stakeholders to see those solutions implemented.

We’re a team that values intrinsically motivated individual contributors that can also seamlessly work with a range of teams and stakeholders - operating solo and collaboratively. Delivering complex information using effective communication skills and building consensus using strong interpersonal skills will aid you in achieving team wins. Although this role is focused on international regulatory compliance, you should have a flexible altitude to assist with the changing needs of the business, including in the U.S. legal and regulatory compliance space and as the regulatory landscape for artificial intelligence evolves. Our ideal candidate would use a first-principles based approach to navigating novel compliance issues with a clear understanding of cross-jurisdictional enforcement risks and be able to effectively advise the business on how to best navigate and mitigate risks in the countries we operate.

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the creation, development and roll out of international policies and processes to ensure that Palantir is complying with applicable laws and regulations in the UK, Europe, APAC, the Middle East and other non-U.S. jurisdictions where we operate
  • Monitor, interpret and advise on legal and regulatory requirements and developments across multiple jurisdictions, including those related to anti-bribery and anti-corruption, conflicts of interest and business ethics, sanctions, data privacy and artificial intelligence
  • Support the development, continuous maintenance and delivery of the compliance program in the U.K., Europe, APAC, the Middle East and other non-U.S. jurisdictions, including providing trainings, managing risk assessments, monitoring the whistleblower hotline, and conducting internal investigations
  • Evaluate and advise on compliance with contractual requirements, ESG requirements, legal and regulatory risks, conflicts and general compliance issues
  • Establish and maintain relationships with business functions based on high level confidence, and act as a key touchpoint for legal compliance queries by answering questions as well as providing business-oriented information, solutions and practical advice
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with international regulators as a means of enhancing Palantir’s compliance program while building, leading and delivering on key international compliance projects

What We Value

  • Excellent strategic legal thinking and strong professional judgment, with the ability to balance satisfying regulatory requirements and mitigating business risk
  • Experience providing advice to clients on international regulations and compliance requirements, including those applicable to software or artificial intelligence products
  • Experience monitoring international regulatory trends, as a means to identify risk and determine appropriate mitigating action plans
  • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical reasoning, and creative problem solving skills

What We Require

  • 5+ years of providing legal and/or regulatory advice at a law firm or in-house
  • Attorney in good standing licensed to practice in the United Kingdom or the United States

Eligible applicant locations: London, United Kingdom.
